Dr. Lela Farmer
It takes special skill to treat children and Dr. Farmer has the unique ability to gain their trust while she skillfully treats their little mouths at our San Antonio dentist office for kids.
MEET THE CAPTAIN OF OUR SAN ANTONIO DENTIST OFFICE FOR KIDS
Dr. Farmer, a North Carolina native, first moved to Texas in 2006 to attend Rice University. After graduating, she attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 2014.
Her husband, whose family has lived in San Antonio since the 1840s, ensured she made her way back to Texas as quickly as possible! She completed her pediatric residency training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, focusing on sedation and treating all children, including those with complex medical conditions and special healthcare needs. While at UT, she earned a Masters of Science in Dentistry degree for her research on children’s behavior.
Dr. Farmer has been recognized for her leadership throughout her dental career. She served as president of her dental school class and chief resident of her residency program, and she earned the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Leadership Award. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Texas Dental Association.
When Dr. Farmer is not in the office, she and her husband enjoy spending time with their daughter, watching basketball (Go Tar Heels! Go Spurs!), participating in church activities, eating great food, and taking in everything San Antonio has to offer.
